ABOUT ME

Hello students and families of Colegio Luis Bunuel!

My name is Chase Tarrier, and I am a teaching assistant at your school this year! What an honor it is to be a new member of this wonderful community. I hope this blog will serve as a resource for you to get to know me a little better, to see how things are going in the classroom, and to access some cool resources that we have used in the classroom this year.

MY BACKGROUND

I was born in the city of Columbus, Ohio, located in what is called the Midwest of the United States. My family still lives in Ohio and I try to visit them whenever I can.

After graduating from high school (escuela secundaria), I went to college at the University of Wisconsin (UW) where I studied philosophy and competed on the UW rowing team. Here you can see where Wisconsin is located, much farther to the North.

UW is in the city of Madison, Wisconsin which is located right between two lakes, so its perfect for rowing! This video will show you what rowing looks like in Wisconsin.

After graduating from college, I lived in Wisconsin for another 5 years. Wisconsin is famous for it's cheese, beautiful nature and extremely cold winters! Here is a photo of me out skiing in Wisconsin when the temperature was -15 degrees!

After college I worked in politics, where I learned a lot about how governments function and how we can make a difference in our communities by getting involved in the issues that are most important to us. This is the Wisconsin State Capitol building where I worked for several years!

While living in Wisconsin, I also adopted two cats! Their names are Joyce and Gunther and they both have very big personalities and love to cuddle together.

After living in Wisconsin for nine years, it was time to try something new. I have always had an interest in education and the Spanish language, so the Auxiliares program seemed like the perfect fit. So now I live here in Madrid with my girlfriend and our two cats! What an exciting and amazing opportunity it is to be in this beautiful city. I hope we will continue to get to know each other better as the year continues. Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have!
